Rain? No Worries! Let's Bird Watch.

Even though it was raining today we still learned a lot and had fun while doing it!  Here our Pre-K One class is painting their binoculars.  Later they decorated them and and got busy watching all the birds outside the windows.

Making Homemade Bird Feeders

Here our Preschool class is making homemade bird feeders to compliment our curriculum this month of "Wings and Things That Fly".  Want to make your own homemade bird feeder?  Follow these easy steps!

1.  Cut out a circle of cardboard and punch a hole in the top.
2.  Tie a piece of string or yarn through the hole to hang in the tree once completed.
3.  Coat the cardboard with butter or Crisco.
4.  Sprinkle bird seed on top.
5.  Hang and enjoy watching the birds!

Pre-K Poses

We were having a ball out on the playground but there is always time to stop for a quick picture.  Check out our beautiful Pre-K One kids!

GREEN Milk!

It must be getting close to St. Patrick's Day because when we came in this morning our milk was GREEN!  The kids suspected leprechauns must have gotten in the kitchen last night!

Letters to Heaven

To correlate with our curriculum all about "Flying", we honored God by holding a balloon release!  Each class enjoyed getting to feel the sunshine as we talked about how the balloons reach Heaven just like our prayers do.  The kids had a blast watching the balloons lift higher and higher.  One kiddo even said he saw the balloons waving back at us!  In addition, each child or class composed a prayer to Heaven that we sent up to God just as we did those balloons! 1 Thessalonians 5:17 reminds us "pray without ceasing."

We haven't had much of a winter here in Tennessee but the Holly Tree kids aren't complaining!  We love our playgrounds and how much fun we have running, skipping, climbing and enjoying the beauty of God's creation.  Thank you Lord for this amazing Earth!

Check out Ms. Nichole and the Pre-K kids learning all about our curriculum this week at HTCS.  In March, we are focusing on "Flying" and this week is centered on studying flying insects.  Ms. Nichole is using the flashlight to represent a firefly as the kids buzz around the room.   This reminds us of the verse Matthew 5:16 "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
